This week we have been finding out all about Thailand. We have learnt to read maps, looked at the traditional dress, compared key features of the country to ours and been learning some of the language. We also made our own origami bird. We hope you like them.

Auditions

May14

Hi lovely year 6′s! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and staying safe! Don’t forget auditions for the school production next week. Just incase you have lost your script here it is…

The animal I really dig,
Above all others is the pig.
Pigs are noble. Pigs are clever,
Pigs are courteous. However,
Now and then, to break this rule,
One meets a pig who is a fool.
What, for example, would you say,
If strolling through the woods one day,
Right there in front of you you saw
A pig who’d built his house of STRAW?
The Wolf who saw it licked his lips,
And said, “That pig has had his chips.”
“Little pig, little pig, let me come in!”
“No, no, by the hairs on my chinny-chin-chin!”
“Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in!”

Good Luck!!

Three days of adventure (part 2)

May14

Just before half term, me and eight children from year 6 went away for three days with Ellis Guilford school. The children got to meet lots of new friends that will be in their classes next year and try activities we had never done before. We all had so much fun and I was very proud of how brave everyone was! I hope they enjoyed it as much as Miss Hunt!

Our forest experience

May13

Forest study group on PhotoPeach
Last term a group of year 6′s attended the forest study centre every Thursday evening. We got to interview players, look around the grounds and got free tickets for the matches. We also worked very hard to improve our maths and literacy skills through football themed activities. It was great fun and we all enjoyed it very much!

Queens Medical centre

May12

Last term we went to QMC to learn important life saving skills. We are now all experts in CPR, the recovery position and accident prevention. We learnt to remember this with DR ABC.
We also looked around accident and emergency, inside and ambulance and had plaster put on our finger and butterfly plasters.
